19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

He saved four early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
